About the Artists' Village…
The Shelter Valley Folk Festival is a grassroots family event, featuring multiple stages with performers from across the continent and around the corner, an exceptional array of talented artists, fabulous hands-on programming for children of all ages, family camping, fine local and organic food, and a wellness area where festival-goers can explore new options for health, well-being, and sustainable living.
This year’s festival runs Labour Day Weekend, Friday September 3 to Sunday September 5, 2010
Deadline March 31st
A group of approximately 20 Artists will be selected participants
of the Shelter Valley Folk Festival Artists’ Village. The
juried selection process will be guided by a desire to create
a vibrant and welcoming artist’s community for the
weekend that will support the contributions of the participating
artists and encourage festival-goers to share in the experience.
Our choices will be based on the quality and originality
of the artist’s work as well as a perceived willingness
to interact with and demonstrate their artistic process to
the audience. In this way the artists become part of
the community as we present this unique weekend experience.
