An Evening with Danny Michel
The Shelter Valley Folk Festival Annual Fundraising Concert
Date: Friday June 21st
Time and Venues: begins 7pm at the Grafton Town Hall with a Silent Auction of "rare experiences". Tickets: $38 including all taxes
Multi JUNO-nominated singer songwriter Danny Michel is just about to launch his North American tour with stops in Grafton and then Luminato. Labeled "fabulous" and "kind of like a Paul Simon in the Rhymin' Simon days" by CBC Host Stuart McLean, Michel is consistently recognized as one of Canada's best writers and captivating performers. His latest album has been called "one of the finest musical works of our time" by music critic Larry LeBlanc. His music defies categorizing with wonderful Roots, Blues and Folk sounds, tinged by a world "soul" drawn from his travels and leading to a Best World Music Album nomination at this year's JUNO Awards. He's engaging, soulful and carries with him a wry sense of humour to add to his stage presence. The evening at the historic Town Hall in Grafton, Ontario also includes a special offering of "rare experiences" carefully collected by Shelter Valley for a Silent Action of opportunities, rarely offered.

Manitoban Del Barber was a favourite performer from our past Labour Day weekend Festival in 2012 and makes a tour stop for Shelter Valley this February in Cobourg.
A multi nominated and award winning Folk artist, Del is known as a magical story teller who at a young age had traveled most of North America and worked in literally dozens of cities. From those experiences he has crafted three albums full of compelling tales about life, his last album in 2012 leading to significant critical acclaim as a singer songwriter making his mark both at home and internationally. http://www.delbarber.com/bio/
